What is the product made of?

It's made of high-density polyurethane. It's the same material that Disney uses to produce their synthetic rock formations, with over 30 years of proven performance. Polyurethane was developed in the 1930s and is used to produce everything from car parts to roller blade wheels.

How do you get real stone colouring?

EasyROCK has a patented process that utilizes iron oxides (real stone dust). Different colours are applied into the mold prior to casting the liquid polyurethane. It's baked onto the product during curing, and is permanent. This is why the products look like real stone - the surface is!

Does the product emit any toxic fumes?

The product emits no toxic fumes and is 100% inert. It's rated a "built green" product. Even in a fire the smoke it produces is less toxic than burning wood.

How does the product hold up?

It's an extremely durable product. All new panels are protected by our patented Hardcoat technology which is virtually scratch proof and thus low maintenance. A degree of fading is inevitable with any building product exposed regularly to the sun, with the right coating (contact us for our special formulation) the effect will be minimized. Hardcoat panels (produced after Jan 1, 2009) are very colourfast and do not require a application of the coating, while non-hardcoat panels will require a reapplication of the coating after 2 years to maintain warranty.

How difficult is EASYROCK to install?

It is a very user friendly product and is quite simple to install using woodworking tools, glue and screws. A section can typically be installed in only a few minutes.

Is the product fireproof?

Our products are not fireproof, however they are approved for application on practically all exterior residential and commercial applications. The Hardcoat panels have fire retardants added for extra protection.

Is the product waterproof?

Our products are closed cell content, meaning they do not absorb moisture. They also do not support mold and fungus, and can be applied below soil grade. Hardcoat panels are even better sealed against moisture.
